Best Winter Gear Finds for Baby Boys

Cold weather is fast approaching and now is the time to get your baby boy’s wardrobe prepped and ready. I have been deal hunting all over the internet to find the best and highest quality deals I can on cold weather clothing for Cal. Here’s what I have found!

First, let’s start with my go-to, Amazon. I love the fast shipping and multitude of options, but sometimes there are an overwhelming number of products to search through. I didn’t end up buying much on Amazon this season, because I was able to score more clothing for less money on other sites by shopping their back-to-school and Labor Day sales.

AMAZON

  • BeaniesI adore these little beanies on Calvin. Good fit for 6-12 months, and possibly beyond. Plus they stay on his head without slipping down over his eyes.
  • Hudson BootiesThese booties are fabulous for little ones who aren’t quite walking yet, but are masters at kicking their socks off. They are soft, warm, easy to put on and stay put on little feet. I love layering these over footed sleepers too!
  • Carhartt jacketLiving in a four seasons area means temperatures are going to vary from mildly chilly to well below freezing. I chose to get Cal a classic Carhartt jacket because they hold up well and they’re warm and insulating. Plus it’s a fabulous outdoor jacket for camping and the like.

I rediscovered The Children’s Place this season and my wallet would be in serious trouble if their deals weren’t so good. I remember my mom shopping there for my siblings and me when I was a kid, and all I can say now is that she’s a smart woman.

CHILDREN’S PLACE

  • Sweatersthe best deal that I found at The Children’s Place was on their baby sweaters. All of the options were 40-60% off. They also shipped really quickly! I bought Calvin a couple of items for Christmas.

Columbia is a great outdoor gear company. They have a variety of products, but they’re not the cheapest option out there. Shopping sales and using discount codes is essential for this brand.

COLUMBIA

  • Buntingthanks to the advertising powers of Instagram, I found this baby bunting for 51% off and ordered two of them. One for this winter and one for next. It’s very lightweight and packable. It also has fold-over mittens and foot covers, which I love.
  • Sale ItemsLabor Day is a great time to shop sales on winter gear and Columbia had some really great deals this year. Black Friday is also good, but you’re often in the dead of winter by then, so stocking up before it gets cold is a great use of Labor Day sales.

So many options from H&M and their stuff is very on trend. It definitely isn’t the most affordable option out there, but if you’re look for decent affordability and style, H&M is your store.

H&M

  • SweatshirtsI love sweatshirts on babies and they are easier to layer under a hooded jacket or coat than a hoodie is, because you don’t have to deal with multiple hoods. These ones are a pretty good deal!
  • Wool Tightsyes, even for little boys. If you are going somewhere very cold for more than 15-20 minutes, layering a pair of wool tights under your little man’s pants is an awesome way to get layered warm without all the bulkiness. And wool is a fabulous winter material.
  • Crew SocksI don’t know who decided ‘no-show’ cut socks were a good idea for babies. But they aren’t. Crew socks are the way to go and these ones from H&M are nice.

Old Navy is a good staple. They often run good sales, and you don’t have to wait until Black Friday or the end of the holiday season to get a good price. They also usually have a good selection in stock at their stores.

OLD NAVY

  • Fleece OverallsI can’t get over these overalls. And fleece is one of my favorite fabrics for baby winter clothes. Soft, warm, durable. I love it.
  • Holiday ApparelI’m not huge into holiday apparel for myself, but you bet your bottom dollar I am going to be putting Calvin into some cute holiday clothes ALL fall and winter long.

Reima is a great kids outdoor brand. They make products that are meant to be played in and still hold up beautifully. They have warm winter gear, waterproof rain gear, and UV protective gear for summer.

REIMA

  • Snow Bootiesan unstructured boot is perfect for non walkers or early walkers in the winter. A structured boot just isn’t comfortable for little ones, so these baby booties are perfect for my little one this winter.

My other huge suggestion when shopping online is to sign up for an account with Rakuten. You get cashback, just for shopping online how you normally do! I highly recommend the Google Chrome plugin. When you use this link to sign up, you’ll get an automatic bonus when you spend your first $30. Plus, I’ll get a bonus too! It’s a win-win scenario!

Hope you and your little ones stay warm and happy this winter! Let me know if you snag any great deals in the comments below!
