My Grandma’s Pancakes and Waffles

If you’ve never had homemade pancakes and waffles you are missing out. Often when we would go to my Grandma Shaun’s house and she would make a big stack of waffles from scratch. Not this recipe is the one my mom makes for Sunday brunch every single week.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. powdered milk
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg; separated
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp oil

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix dry ingredients together
  2. Separate the egg
  3. Mix together water, oil, and egg yolk
  4. Add water, oil, egg mixture to dry ingredients and mix well
  5. Beat egg whites
  6. Gently fold egg whites into batter
  7. Pour onto hot, greased griddle or waffle iron
  8. Serve hot with homemade maple syrup, margarine or butter, semi-sweet chocolate chips, Kool Whip, and strawberries.
  9. Enjoy surrounded by family or friends, preferably on a Sunday afternoon.

TIPS

This recipe will feed 3-4 people. My mom always doubles it when making dinner for my family of 6 adults.
